# Fund your wallet

To use the Rocket beta you need a small amount of **MegaETH testnet ETH**. It's free, it takes a couple of minutes, and it has no real value. It's only there to let you interact with the chain.

Testnet ETH is not real money. You can't buy it, sell it, or cash it out. It exists so you can test Rocket exactly like you would the real thing.

## Set up an EVM wallet

If you don't have one yet, install **MetaMask** or **Rabby**. Both are free browser extensions and work with Rocket. Create your wallet and save your recovery phrase somewhere safe.

## Add the MegaETH testnet to your wallet

The cleanest way to add the network with the correct settings is to let the official site do it for you:

1. Go to [**testnet.megaeth.com**](https://testnet.megaeth.com/)
2. Connect your wallet
3. Click **Add to Wallet** and approve the network in your wallet popup

This automatically fills in the right RPC, chain ID, and explorer, so you don't have to type anything manually.

Only add the network from the official MegaETH site or from [Chainlist](https://chainlist.org/). Ignore any "Add network" popup that appears on a site you don't trust.

## Claim free testnet ETH from the faucet

1. Still on [**testnet.megaeth.com**](https://testnet.megaeth.com/), scroll to the **Faucet** section
2. Make sure your wallet is set to the MegaETH testnet
3. Request testnet ETH

The faucet sends a small amount per wallet every 24 hours. That's more than enough to start playing on Rocket. If the faucet is empty, wait for the next cycle and try again.

## Connect to Rocket and play

Once the testnet ETH lands in your wallet, head back to Rocket, connect, and draw your first range.

### Troubleshooting

Refresh your wallet, and double-check you're viewing the MegaETH testnet network, not Ethereum mainnet.

<summary>Faucet says you already claimed?</summary>

The limit is one claim per 24 hours, tracked by IP. Switching wallets won't reset it.

<summary>Network won't add?</summary>

Update your wallet to the latest version, then retry the **Add to Wallet** step on the official site.
